Sunday School Teacher of the MOnth

Our February Sunday School Teacher of the month is MARK BLAKE. Mark teaches young adults at Bedford First Church of the Nazarene. According to the person who nominated Mark, he is passionate about his class and it is very evident in his delivery. He is faithful week after week to teach the Word. His pleasant smile is contagious. My Joy congratulates Mark Blake!

Our January Sunday School Teacher of the month is GLORIA FRANKLIN, Education Director at the Southland Church of Christ in Bedford. Gloria started her teaching ministry about 15 years ago in Germany, but now back in Indiana, she has taken on the task of overseeing Southland's Education program. she began a Children's Church and is teaching the Middle School age children at this time. Our December, 2011 Sunday School Teacher of the Month is Tim Sproull, who teaches high-school age youth at Life Tabernacle in Springville. Two of his students nominated Tim saying "he loves working with every one of us. He doesn't just each the lesson, he breaks it down to our level and gets to each one of us. Tim cares for all of us and I'm glad that I'm privileged enough to have him as a teacher." And..."He is an amazing Sunday School teacher and a great example to us kids. I don't know where I would be without his influence in my life." Tim is 31, married with 3 children, and works at Indiana Limestone. Click HERE to listen to our interview with Tim.

My Joy's November, 2011 Sunday School teacher of the month is Marie Fleetwood, a charter member of The Life Church located at 3575 North Prow Road in Bloomington, pastored by Phil Amandola. She has been teaching Sunday school there since 1989.

Now 91 years of age (photo on left), as you can see, she has no signs of slowing down. She has only missed teaching Sunday school three times over the last 52 years, once to attend an out- of -town wedding, and twice for medical reasons. Because of her dedication to serve God, several of Marie's former students serve as Pastors or elders.
